New Broom is a broad-based coalition of everyone from seasoned electoral strategists to people who want nothing to do with electoral politics but who want to work with others to expose and call out bad political practice.  Whatever your brand of progressive politics, there is room for you to get involved.                      

 
 
 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 The New Broom Coalition promotes a two-prong strategy:

 

  • D Demonstrations, forums and other activities that shine light in the corners of our local government, no longer allowing our business to be conducted in back rooms and under the table.
 
 
  • Identifying and organizing opportunities for local citizens to participate in and have an effect on the governance of their community,
    so the community can be shaped by and for the residents, not by controlling interests who want to create an opportunity to profit regardless of what is actually needed.
  • Promoting transparency and accountability in government wherever possible, and encouraging and supporting all those who strive for the common good.
